Description
Current Lot Famous Pianists of the Nineteenth Century Interesting set of four autograph letters signe by some of the foremost nineteenth-century pianists. A) Emile Prudent (1817-1863): signed one-page autograph letter, 8vo, dated 'Lundi 14 décembre' (no year) and addressed to the great librettist Felice Romani, "Monsieur le Chevalier Romani poète'. B) Henri Rosellen (1811-1876): signed autograph one-page letter, 16mo, dated '29 giugno 1844' and addressed to the music critic Isidoro Cambiasi 'Je prie Monsieur Cambiasi de vouloir bien se charger de cette musique pour M. Lucco ...'. C) Henri Herz (1803-1888): signed autograph one-page letter, 16mo oblong, dated '16 mars' (no year) and addressed to 'Monsieur Cambiasi'. D) Antoine Katski (1817-1899): signed autograph letter dated 21 March 1844 and addressed to Isidoro Cambiasi. Also enclosed are two autograph letters signed by the French politician Narcisse-Achilles de Salvandy, both addressed to Mrs. (Cirilla) Cambiasi, and an autograph letter signed by the German voice teacher Heinrich Panofka, which also bears a hand-written note on Emile Prudent.
