Description
Current Lot Amelia Pinto (1876-1945) Very rare object that once belonged to the famous Wagnerian soprano , who received it as a gift when she interpreted Isolde in Tristan and Isolde at La Scala. It is a beautiful satin stole (cm 320 x 17.8) with floral motif decoration and dedication in gold: 'Ad Amelio Pinto - Isotta - La Scala - Milano'. Assigning her the role of Isolde (who sang with an outstanding 'Tristan', Giuseppe Borgatti) in the representation staged at the Teatro alla Scala for the first time on 26 December 1900, Arturo Toscanini paved the way to Amelia Pinto's successful career.
