Item Description CLICK HERE TO MAKE PAYMENT WHEN THE AUCTION ENDS!!!PRESENTS FEATURED SELLERItem Location: Northbrook, IL 60062United StatesNorman Laliberte Signed LE Art Print MARRY MEDescriptionThis beautiful signed limited edition print is by noted contemporary artist Norman Laliberté: Title: "Marry Me" 28¾ × 39¾ Aquatint, drypoint, spit bite and lift ground * Signed and numbered from a limited edition of 100 Bright and fresh; never mounted, matted or framed Certificate of Authenticity Retail gallery price $975 This exciting print is wholly representative of the artist's work and first-class printmaking techniques. While he tips his artistic hat to the likes of Paul Klee and Georges Rouault, Laliberté has created a language all his own. Laliberté first received international recognition for his extraordinary exhibition of eighty-eight large, cloth-applique banners designed for the Vatican Pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair. Commissions followed from such prestigious institutions as the National Art Centre of Ottawa; the American Institute of Architects, Washington, D.C.; Standard Oil of Indiana; Container Corporation of America; the New York Bar Association. Two retrospective exhibitions of his work have been held, one at the Chicago Public Library and another at Montreal's Saidye Bronfman Center. In addition, Laliberté is the recipient of numerous awards, including the AIGA Award for Design, and an Honorary Doctorate from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame. He has been the subject of a documentary by the National Film Board of Canada and has been featured in articles in such publications as Time, Life, The New York Times and Canadian Art. Paintings, prints and sculptures by Norman Laliberté appear in the permanent collections of more than seventy-five museum and corporate collections. Please click on the link below to view our other auctions of the work of this exciting contemporary artist.* Spit Bite - A technique where the artist paints, drips or flings a strong acid solution directly onto the aquatint ground. * Lift-ground aquatint -- A form of intaglio printing in which the artists draws with a specially formulated ink on a metal plate. The plate is then covered with an acid resistant ground and immersed in water. The characteristics of the drawing medium (which may be applied with a pen or brush) allow it to dissolve and work through the acid resistant ground. When bitten in acid, the final result resembles pen or brush work. For International shipping please request a SHIPPING QUOTEShipping and handling for this item is $25.00 plus additional insurance cost.
